Wrong Spot, Wrong Time

2 Sam 11:1-5 (NIV)
In the spring, at the time when kings go off to war, David sent Joab out with the king's men and the whole Israelite army. They destroyed the Ammonites and besieged Rabbah. But David remained in Jerusalem.

One evening David got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of the palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing. The woman was very beautiful, and David sent someone to find out about her. The man said, "Isn't this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam and the wife of Uriah the Hittite?" Then David sent messengers to get her. She came to him, and he slept with her. (She had purified herself from her uncleanness.) Then she went back home. The woman conceived and sent word to David, saying, "I am pregnant."

Have you ever been in a situation where you said to yourself, "I should not be here."? I really think this is one of those moments for David, from this point on in his life things were going to be different for him, and the Lord wasted no time in letting him know (2 Sam 12:1-14) God made it very clear that the sword would never leave his house, and it started with his newborn son.
David should have never been in town to begin with, and what started out as a moonlit walk on the roof, changed the course of his whole life.

Casting Crowns has a song called " slow fade" and there's a part in there that says be careful little eyes what you see, its the second glance that ties your hands as darkness pulls the strings.

If David had been where he was supposed to be, and if he hadn't of taken the second look, we would be talking about something else today.

If God has been nudging you that you are in the wrong spot, that you are supposed to be with the troops instead of looking at something that's not yours. Take heed my friend, listen to the Lord and get to where you are supposed to be before its to late. It didn't go well for David, I'm sure it wont be different for you. After all, David was a man after Gods heart and very much had Gods hand guiding and leading him until all his success wasn't enough for him and he became restless.
