Its All In How You Look At It

2 Sam 22:1-4 (NIV)
David sang to the Lord the words of this song when the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. He said:

"The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation.
He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior —
from violent men you save me.
I call to the Lord, who is worthy of praise,
and I am saved from my enemies.

David Broke into praise for the only one he knew who could have brought him through such great battles. Despite his mistakes along the way that were made, God still showed favor on David because David never stopped turning to Him.
He never got who God was to him out of perspective. He knew there was a season that he would need to pay for his indulgence's and he allowed that to happen, he didn't try to fight it off or run the other way.

One thing David had was a really good idea of who God was to him. There was never a doubt in his mind that God would never leave him, even in the wrong that was done. Eventually, God saw him through to another great victory, and as was his custom, David broke out in songs of praise.

In our lives we have victories and upsets, ask yourself, do I respond to both as David did? Or do we begin to rebel at the rebuking of the Lord and take the credit in the victories, forgetting it was God that saw me through the battle?

Once we get a different perspective on God our whole world will be filled with songs of praise.
