Watch Out!

Luke 21:34-36 (NLT)
"Watch out! Don't let me find you living in careless ease and drunkenness, and filled with the worries of this life. Don't let that day catch you unaware, as in a trap. For that day will come upon everyone living on the earth. Keep a constant watch. And pray that, if possible, you may escape these horrors and stand before the Son of Man."

Watch out! sounds like something is coming our way, or about to possibly take us out. A warning given when eminent danger is present.
You cannot be in the ready alert mode while being drunk or overly consumed with the worries of the day. Most of us know this all to well that when drunk, your reflex's are not as good as they should be (Although we are fooled into thinking perhaps there better at the time) The reality is they are twice as slow. When our Lord comes we want to be ready, watching and waiting.
What does that look like?
Staying focused in Gods word, and being involved in your church family, reaching out to the lost. You know, its imitating Christ Himself. Staying in prayer being able to hear when God speaks.

Christ is coming again, and we need to watch and be spiritually fit. This means working faithfully at the tasks God has given us. Don’t let your mind and spirit be dulled by careless living, drinking, or the foolish pursuit of pleasure.

Jesus told the disciples to keep a constant watch for his return. Although nearly 2,000 years have passed since he spoke these words, their truth remains: Don’t let life’s anxieties overburden you, so that you will be ready to move at God’s command.
