What I HAve Seen

1 John 1:1-4 (NIV)
That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We write this to make our joy complete.

An eye witness account is as good as being there yourself. Consider this, that when this was wrote the times were much as they are today, people going there own way and following every wind of doctrine that blows through. I get the sense that John was very passionate about what he believed due to the things he saw firsthand and when he see's his community following after false gods and doctrines it breaks his heart, much like it should break ours.
John was not quiet about his faith, he was very vocal and he told of the things he knew and saw.
While none of us has sat and ate with Jesus, we have all had encounters with our Father and He has dramatically changed our lives, we should not be quiet about it because there's still a lot of people out there that have not met Him yet and need Him desperately.
Don't be afraid to speak that which you have seen and heard.
The Lord will provide the words, you provide the voice.
