His Will Be Done

Luke 1:35-38 (NLT)
The angel replied, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the baby born to you will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God. What's more, your relative Elizabeth has become pregnant in her old age! People used to say she was barren, but she's already in her sixth month. For nothing is impossible with God."
Mary responded, "I am the Lord's servant, and I am willing to accept whatever he wants. May everything you have said come true." And then the angel left.


Consider for a moment the challenge's that lie ahead of Mary for a moment, she knew she would have to tell her fiance about this knowing they hadn't been together, the risk there was in losing him, her family and friends. Because in that day to be pregnant outside of wedlock was thought so disgraceful that she could have literally ended up a beggar or a prostitute if they had decided to reject her.

In today's culture however, it wouldn't be so hard, in fact I'm not so sure that God could do something so miraculous today for the simple fact that we have grown so calloused to these sorts of things happening that we wouldn't even blink at it. We would simply put her on a talk show labeled "Whos my baby's daddy" and move on.

OK so in your life, God is not trying to birth the Son Of God in you, but I can venture a guess that He is trying to birth something in you. No matter how off course it might seem, if it lines up with the word of God perhaps its time to say "I am the Lord's servant, and I am willing to accept whatever he wants." You will be amazed at what God will open up for you if we would simply be obedient to Him, and do His will.

As with all things though, be sure to consult the manual (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth) and even your Pastor if its of the Lord He will allow you confirmation.
