Go With Confidence!

1 Sam 17:45-50 (NIV)

David said to the Philistine, "You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will hand you over to me, and I'll strike you down and cut off your head. Today I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord's, and he will give all of you into our hands."

As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him. Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell face down on the ground.

So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him.

David believed what he believed and walked out what he had learned in the Lord. He trusted the Lord with all his heart and was confident that God would deliver Goliath into his hands.

In this day and age its hard to find that kind of courage, faith and strength. To many of us have shrunk back in fear of the battle, David ran into the battle, we talk about it (then talk ourselves out of it).

Whats different today? Was David listening to the best preachers and getting pumped up at a great revival? No He was in the fields doing his every day mundane thing tending the sheep, listening to God Himself, unknowingly practicing the skill that He would use to change the course of his life and a nation.
Colossians 3:23-25

All of us have something that God has uniquely given to us for the battle, we have been practicing not knowing, but have you been allowing God to speak to you as you practice.
Take time to hear Gods voice, and listen to what He says to you, then run confidently into the battle knowing that the Lord has predestined you to be victorious over the enemy.
