Take Heed Lest You Fall!

1 Cor 10:6-13

Now these things became our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted. And do not become idolaters as were some of them. As it is written, "The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play." Nor let us commit sexual immorality, as some of them did, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell; nor let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents; nor complain, as some of them also complained, and were destroyed by the destroyer. Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.

Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
NKJV

Isn't that amazing?
The God who created the universe, set the stars in place, breathed life into man and created every living thing knows what our limits are.
There is so much in this world that can and does grab our attention that you would almost think that locking yourself in your house would have to be the answer to avoiding them, but wait then there is the TV or the computer.
It's inevitable, we are going to be tempted daily. Men, I know you can relate to this. It seems that even in the winter time we cannot escape the barely clothed when we leave the house. Maybe that's not your temptation, but I can guarantee you that there is something that draws your attention with out fail and you struggle with getting your focus back. We all have our weakness's my point here is to not sit and point them all out today but to point out the fact that our God, whom we serve is, great and mighty and faithful to help us out of that temptation.
All the things in my life that have tempted me, He knows about and He promises to deliver me from them. But I need to call on Him. I need to still have the strength to call on His name.
The purpose of a temptation is to draw us away from the Lord or from a goal in our lives. How many times have you had that work you needed to do on the house and needed to save some money to do it when all of a sudden that particular gadget goes on sale and you have just enough saved to get it but it would put you back to the start again?
Its that simple! The Lord knows your heart and He is faithful to deliver you no matter the temptation.
Stay in the word and stay close in fellowship with God through prayer and He will give you the strength to overcome any temptation making certain the devil will not get a foothold in those areas of your life.
I have found at times that simply calling Jesus' name out can take that temptation away.
Take heed lest you fall, You cannot do this in your own strength, don't even try. The enemy will try to convince you that you can but he is the father of lies remember.
Call on the Lord.
