Isa 8:12-15
"Don't call everything a conspiracy, like they do,
and don't live in dread of what frightens them.
Make the Lord of Heaven's Armies holy in your life.
He is the one you should fear.
He is the one who should make you tremble.
He will keep you safe.
But to Israel and Judah
he will be a stone that makes people stumble,
a rock that makes them fall.
And for the people of Jerusalem
he will be a trap and a snare.
Many will stumble and fall,
never to rise again.
They will be snared and captured."

The Immediate Future:
Isaiah and his wife had another son, named Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz. The name means "quick to the plunder, swift to the spoil," and points to the impending judgment on Israel. Within months Syria and Israel were crushed, their capitals plundered, and their people deported. The armies of Assyria flowed over the borders of Judah to flood that nation, rising swiftly from feet to knees to waist and shoulders, right up to the very head itself, Jerusalem. The waters would recede, but Judah was left a disaster (8:6-10).
The people of God needed to forget their fear of men, of Rezin and Pekah who terrorized Ahaz but who soon were to die, and to fear God who Judges iniquity. Isaiah cried out:
The Lord Almighty is the One you are to regard as holy, He is the One you are to fear, He is the One you are to dread.
He would be a sanctuary to any who would turn to Him, but if Judah refused to return, the God they spurned would bring about their brokenness. Yet instead of turning to God, the people turned to mediums and spiritualists, to consult the dead on behalf of the living (8:11-22).
Isaiah, along with most of the prophets, was viewed as a traitor because he did not support Judah’s national policies. He called the people to commit themselves first to God, and then to the king. He even predicted the overthrow of the government.
Life can be a circle, If we look back to then (around 740 B.C) and jump forward to today, aren't we still playing the same game?
When someone comes in to our world to let us know that we are on the wrong track, we shoo them off or try to make some other explanation as to whats going on and ignore the elephant that is in our living room. It has happened time and time again since Adam And Eve.
In all things we should fear the Lord and seek His will for us. If we are not seeking Him than we are seeking our demise with the world. False prophets and mediums will tell you something for a price today. It will be inaccurate and it will cost you down the road even more than you can imagine. The Lord gives guidance for a price as well, the price is your life. Give it to Him to use and He will guide you through all the storms and floods in your life.
