2Tim 2:10
So I am willing to endure anything if it will bring salvation and eternal glory in Christ Jesus to those God has chosen.
1 Peter 5:8-11
Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are.
In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation. All power to him forever! Amen.
Col 1:24-27
I am glad when I suffer for you in my body, for I am participating in the sufferings of Christ that continue for his body, the church. God has given me the responsibility of serving his church by proclaiming his entire message to you. This message was kept secret for centuries and generations past, but now it has been revealed to God's people. For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory.
People talk a lot about what they will do to share there faith or to help a brother or sister out, but not many would suffer, not all will endure anything let alone be glad about it.
Paul was a champion of the faith for sure he rose to the top. He lived his life just as he wrote, and died doing what he loved and lived for. I firmly believe that he would have done anything for a chance to speak the gospel to an ear that hadnt heard it before, unto death.
So why do we have such fear?
Why don't we walk across the room to share?
Why don't we go and have coffee with that co-worker who's life is falling apart around them and share our faith with them?
The enemy has convinced us that they will reject us, or we are not qualified, and apparently that is to much suffering for us to endure.
Is that for real?
Paul would be ashamed I think of our weak faith.
God didn't call us to evangelize the world, He called us to evangelize the world around us.
Jesus said we would be hated because He was hated, that's good enough for me. I am making a decision to evangelize the world around me.
Look at it this way, the bible also says that He wont come back till the whole world has heard the gospel, you have it in you and if you aren't sharing it you are holding it up, myself included.
So do you think you can suffer thru a cup of coffee?
