Heb 3:12-19
See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness. We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first. As has just been said:
"Today, if you hear his voice,
do not harden your hearts
as you did in the rebellion."
Who were they who heard and rebelled? Were they not all those Moses led out of Egypt? And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the desert? And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest if not to those who disobeyed? So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief.
NIV
Community is ever important in this day as much if not more than it was then. We all are still struggling the same as they did with sin, the only real difference is that with the things we have developed we have a lot more access than they did and we can do it 50 times faster and way more secret.
With the help of the internet, we can do most things in a flash and no one knows.
That's where community comes in to play. If you are one of Gods children then you should be surrounding yourself with your like minded brothers. God will use them to lead you away from sin and remind you of Gods victory over sin and death. Ive seen God put something on someones heart to begin talking about at just the right time when someone else in the group needed to hear it and was able to bring them out of there darkness fully restored as a result because it tugged on his heart so much that he confessed later to that brother the sin he was involved in.
We are all going to struggle, there's not one of us who doesn't have weaknesses. Don't trust your own wisdom, get with the brothers and sisters that God and His Holy spirit flow through to bring Godly wisdom into your life.
Heb 3:6
But Christ is faithful as a son over God's house. And we are his house, if we hold on to our courage and the hope of which we boast.
NIV
1 Cor 10:1-5
For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers, that our forefathers were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea. They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ. Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them; their bodies were scattered over the desert.
NIV
Turn to the family of God to help be an anchor for you in hard times and see what God will do through His House.
