Ps 118:10-14
All the nations surrounded me,
but in the name of the Lord I cut them off.
They surrounded me on every side,
but in the name of the Lord I cut them off.
They swarmed around me like bees,
but they died out as quickly as burning thorns;
in the name of the Lord I cut them off.
I was pushed back and about to fall,
but the Lord helped me.
The Lord is my strength and my song;
he has become my salvation.
NIV
The writer of this Psalm is unknown, but the one he speaks of is certainly known. The writer knew God intimately and knew God would see him through any circumstance.
It would seem that no matter what was going on, the Lord came through like the hero in a movie and saved the day.
God has abilities that we haven't even yet begun to see in our lives.
In your life there are challenges, each day a battle to face, a hurdle to get over. You commonly feel as though you are being surrounded by the enemy. But the Lord is there and not only is He there but He is waiting till the perfect time to rescue you from your trouble Verse 13 says; I was pushed back and about to fall,
but the Lord helped me.
2 Cor 12:9-10
But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
NIV
If we could stop trying to do things in our power and learn to rely on the Lord for our victories, I think we would begin to see an awesome change in our circumstances.
