John 3:16-17
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 19:17-18
Carrying his own cross, he went out to the place of the Skull (which in Aramaic is called Golgotha). Here they crucified him, and with him two others — one on each side and Jesus in the middle.
John 20:1-2
Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, "They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don't know where they have put him!"
John 20:17
Jesus said, "Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, 'I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'"
God so loved you and I, that he sent His one and only Son to live among us as a man to shine light into this dark world then to die on a cross next to thieves for our sins, and to rise again 3 days later victorious over death.
Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice for you and I, one that we cannot even imagine. But we are not sad, no this was victory. Victory for you and I to have a hope and a future to live with Him in eternity after this life. Until then He lives in our hearts encouraging us to make His name famous and glorified, because when its all said and done every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that He is the son of God and He reigns.
