The Best Laid Plan

Luke 2:4-7 (NIV)

So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

I wonder how many times they doubted if this was really God working in there lives, surely they knew the scriptures and knew that the baby would be born in Bethlehem as it had been prophesied so many times. But God works out all the details just when you don't expect it.

A Roman census (registration) was taken to aid military conscription or tax collection. The Jews didn’t have to serve in the Roman army, but they could not avoid paying taxes. Augustus’s decree went out in God’s perfect timing and according to God’s perfect plan to bring his Son into the world.
God controls all history. By the decree of Emperor Augustus, Jesus was born in the very town prophesied for his birth (Micah 5:2), even though his parents did not live there.

God Moved Mary and Joseph into perfect positioning to fulfill the scriptures, and has filled every one since perfectly without fail.
Why do we continue to doubt that God will work it all out?
If things aren't lining up the way you think that they should be then perhaps its time to change the way you think it should be, and let God have a go at it! Perhaps He is waiting for you to get out of the way of His perfect plan!
